We’re right on Playa del Calabajío, in Velilla-Taramay (Almuñécar, Granada), in the heart of the Costa Tropical, about five minutes by car from Almuñécar town centre (La Herradura is on the far side of town, a quarter of an hour away). Address: Playa, Cam. de la Galera, 18690 Velilla-Taramay, Almuñécar.

We are right on Playa del Calabajío, fine dark sand sheltered between Punta de Jesús and Punta de la Galera. From there a run of coves follows —Cabría, Curumbico and Barranco de Enmedio— the least built-up stretch of the Almuñécar coast. Playa de Cabría, gravel and rock with very calm water, is reached along the coastal path, with its old watchtower in view.

No. We are in Velilla-Taramay, in Almuñécar, east of the town. La Herradura is on the far side of Almuñécar, to the west: about twelve to fifteen minutes by car from the restaurant, going through the town.

Not quite: we are right on Playa del Calabajío, the cove next door, on Camino de la Galera. Cabría is a short walk along the coastal path, with its old watchtower in view, and belongs to the same district, Velilla-Taramay.

Yes. All of our areas —restaurant, terrace, bar and chill-out— face the Mediterranean, so wherever you sit you’ll have the sea in front of you and, at sunset, some of the best views around.

We are right on Playa del Calabajío, but we are not a seasonal chiringuito: we are a restaurant open every day of the year, with dining room, terrace, bar and chill-out area facing the sea. You can have a drink at the bar or in the chill-out, or sit down for a full lunch or dinner.

Yes. As well as the dining room we have a terrace, a bar and a chill-out area, all facing the Mediterranean. If you would like a particular area, tell us when you book and we will do our best depending on that day’s availability.

The evening service starts at 20:00 and the sun sets to the west, on the Almuñécar side. Booking early in the evening service means dinner with the sunset still burning over the water; the exact time depends on the season.

Yes. We host group lunches and dinners, corporate dinners, sports clubs and family celebrations, and we tailor the menu. For groups it is best to write to contacto@calabajiorestaurante.com or call +34 665 633 889 in advance.

Yes, we accept cards and cash.

Mediterranean fusion cuisine with oriental and Italian accents: fresh fish of the day, bluefin tuna, slow-cooked rices, aged meats and vegetarian and vegan options. Costa Tropical produce, made fresh every day.

We open every day of the year, in two services: 13:00–16:30 and 20:00–24:00. Thanks to Almuñécar’s warm climate, you can enjoy us 365 days a year.

Yes. We have vegetarian and vegan dishes, and our menu includes allergen information. We adapt dishes whenever possible — just let us know when you book or when you arrive.

Yes, we have options designed so the little ones enjoy it too. Calabajío is a comfortable, family-friendly spot right on the beach.

There’s parking around Playa de Velilla-Taramay. We’re on Camino de la Galera, beside the seafront promenade; you can open the direct route with the “Get directions” button.
